My Journey with Lymphoma: Diagnosed at 37

  • The day everything changed

I still remember the exact chill of that morning — how ordinary it felt before it wasn’t. I had errands to run, projects to finish, and plans for dinner. Then one phone call split time into before and after.
Hearing the word lymphoma didn’t just change my health; it shifted my perspective.

I went from worrying about deadlines to noticing how sunlight fell through the kitchen window. From then on, every small, beautiful thing became something sacred — a reminder that life, even in its uncertainty, is worth paying attention to.
  • I learned so much, worth every penny.

Remission isn’t the same as before. It’s not the end of the story — it’s a new chapter I’m still learning to write. Healing doesn’t always look like strength; sometimes it’s softness, forgiveness, and rebuilding trust in my own body.

I’ve started celebrating the small victories — waking up without pain, taking a walk without fear, laughing until my sides ache. These moments are my markers of survival.
Now, I live slower, with gratitude stitched into every plan I make.

Thoughts on After Active Cancer Treatment
  • Waiting for biopsy results.

Those days were the longest stretch of stillness I’ve ever known. Between scans and calls, I learned what waiting really feels like — the kind that hums in your chest and rearranges your thoughts.

I tried to keep working, cooking, living — but everything felt suspended. In that silence, I began to listen to myself again. I realized how much I had ignored my body’s whispers, and how brave it is to keep showing up each day even without answers.
Waiting taught me that courage isn’t loud. Sometimes, it’s just breathing through the unknown.

    Getting ready for Chemotherapy
  • Time well spent — learning to live again after cancer.

When treatment ended, I thought healing would mean getting back to who I used to be. But I’m learning that life after cancer isn’t about going back — it’s about moving forward differently.

Some days, I still wake up searching for the version of myself that existed before the diagnosis, the one who planned months ahead without hesitation.
